Mat only-all you will need is a comfortable mat and working space. Small hand towel for neck support and assisted stretching. - This class is designed for learning a vocabulary of movements that can be done anywhere. Focusing on both strengthening and lengthening muscles, thus creating long lean muscles vs short bulky muscles. Exercises can be adapted for those with injuries or done at a more challenging level for those with healthy bodies. A strong focus is placed on core strength and spinal mobility, alignment, precision, safety, technique, control, concentration and BREATH.
Mat class adding small apparatus- I recommend purchasing a magic circle (Amazon, Aero Pilates runs under $20) perhaps some free weights. We can also add in thera bands...
Ball Class- you will need a large physio ball (55cm if you are under 5’4”, 65 cm if taller). Most important, when sitting on the ball your hips should be slightly higher than your knees, so as not to over tighten the hip flexors. A set of free weights. Your choice as to lbs.… Magic circle is a great addition. Together we will have a ball! Warm up, cardio, quadriceps, inner and outer thighs, abdominal series, glutes/hamstrings, arms! Culminating in a cool down and stretch.
In Barre class we will awaken all your primary muscles, making modifications as needed, for your body. Challenging your BALANCE throughout class, as we work with a focus on alignment and technique to safely strengthen without pain. With an emphasis on both stretching and strengthening!
